Your journey

Here are the steps you are likely to take with Attention To Health, from first enquiry through to reporting.

  • Email us and tell us about what kind of appointment you would like to arrange. You will then be emailed back within 3-4 working days. We may then ask for some more information and for you to complete a short patient information questionnaire and our terms and conditions document.

For example, if you are interested in having an ADHD assessment, you will also be asked to do a short screening measure to see whether ADHD assessment is indicated based on your self-report.

If you are not sure what kind of appointment, you need it may be worth booking a short consultation appointment with one of our clinicians.

Please see our services page for more information on types of appointments and fees.

  • Your first appointment will be with one of our clinicians and we will talk about your goals, what problems you are facing and come to a shared understanding of what may be causing the issues and then a plan of what to do next. This may involve treatment with us (i.e. medication of psychological therapy) or signposting to other professionals/services. You will be asked to complete some short questionnaires including a patient history form, so we have the most up-to-date information about you. You may be asked to attend with someone or have other people provide some information about you e.g. your GP.

For more specialised assessment, like an ADHD assessment we would take a lot of information from you and from those who know you well in order to establish whether this diagnosis is a good fit for the problems you have been experiencing. We will always require these assessments to get some information from other people who know you well.

  • If the plan following on from your assessment is to have treatment with us, then you will be offered follow-ups with one clinician who you will see regularly. Follow-up medication appointments usually happen every 3-4 weeks whereas psychological therapy may occur more regularly.

For ADHD titration we estimate that people usually need 3-4 appointments per each medication tried. For psychological therapy usually 8-12 sessions are offered to start with but then can be continued as needed.

  • Once you have had an assessment or completed a piece of treatment you a report/letter will be written outlining the content of what was discussing, clinical conclusion and a plan going forward.

We may also ask for feedback at various points to help us improve our practice.
